THE HARMONIC GENERATOR (15th Oct)

After Marc having a go in the DJ Booth last night at the Metallica after party at Desch & spinning the Datsuns....it goes without saying that he found the inspiration for this weeks cocktail...

Muddle two kiwifruit and lime in a glass - pour in 45ml of the Feijoa Vodka, top up with cloudy applejuice. Shake in a shaker full of ice....it should go all a bit frothy-like...pour into a glass full of ice....presto! Apparently you can add another twist to this, adding elderflower liqueuer. delishis. [sic]

LOCK & LOAD (1st Oct)
Introducing my new favourite Gingerbread liquer in this one - named after the Baitercell & Schumacher track feat the saucy Bex Riley....

Wammo's rating today was rather high on this one. Think he liked it a little tooo much. Goodo

30mls baileys
30 mls creme de cacao (chocolate liquer)
15 mls Ameretto (the marzipany/xmas cake one)

THE DOMINION (17th Sept)
30 mls Vodka
30 mls Pinot Noir
15 mls Strawberry Liquor
a lime
redbull

Squeeze the lime into all ingredients bar the redbull - shake in a shaker full of ice, strain into a glass full of ice (or martini glass) then top with redbull.
This one is dangerous. Very easy to skull if thirsty. Ask lovely Brett @ Deschlers. He'll sort you out.

NEVER MIND TODAY (10th Sept):
45 Mils Rum (Havana - the good sh*t)
15 mls maple syrup
1 fresh lime
ice
This one Marc created as a "guys sipper" - as last weeks was the girls sipper.
Funnily enough I liked this one much better - Named after a Head Like A Hole Track (I think the first song Marc saw them play in 92 when they opened for the Red Hot Chili Peppers in all their bodypainted buck-naked glory...)
Three ingredients in this one as you are really bringing out & complementing the flavour of the rum here -
So shake all ingredients together in a shaker full of ice - and strain into a glass full of ice (martini if you like)
Sip....and Never Mind Today - nor tomorrow - nor the rest of the week depending on how many you have.
DELICIOUS!

MY MIND'S SEDATE (3rd September)
This one's in honour of the announcement that Shihad is being induced into the NZ Music Hall of Fame come the NZ Music Awards...a vodka based drink, a lil something for the ladies...to be drunk in a sugar frosted martini glass.
30 mls Vanilla Vodka
15 mls Butterscotch Schnapps
15 mls Apple Sours
15 mls Cinnammon Syrup (lil bit of vodka, sugar syrup, with cinnammon sticks left to infuse - put it through 3 cycles of the dishwasher to get it shaken up and warm and infused. Maybe even 4 cycles.)
Squeeze the shiz out of a lime It helps if you have one of the special lime squeezer things that Marc has, I will take a photo next week!
Put all ingrediants into a shaker with ice - shake that thang...then strain into a glass of ice. Lovely! Ask your lovely staff at Desch for a My Minds Sedate this week.

THE READY TO ROLL (27th August)
This one is my new favourite. You need:
30 ml pinot gris wine
30 ml gin
15 ml sugar syrup
juice of one lime
and cut up a kiwi fruit.
put into a glass....can't remember the exact word, but "moosh" it all up together, mulch that kiwi fruit in well ...
then shake in a shaker with ice,
strain into a glass also filled with ice
top with lemonade.
AMAZING. then you're ready to roll. amen.

THE FLYING NUN (20th August)
For the Inaugral Kiwi Cocktail, Marc has come up with a treat (apparently courtesy of Brett The Barman)
The Flying Nun is:
30 Mls Havana Club Especiale
15 Mls White Creme De Cacao
15 Mls Cinammon Syrup (todays one created especially by the chefs at Desch, so a little bit top secret)
Fresh Lime Juice (1 x Small Lime)
Ginger Beer
Pour all Ingredients (except the ginger beer) into an ice-filled shaker, shake and strain into a tall, ice filled glass.
Top with Ginger Beer....and enjoy!!

This one I think can be great for Summer or Winter - the lime & gingerbeer make for a refreshing feel but the chocolatey/cinammon flavours give it a slightly warm rich feel, perfect for winter! Angie's rating....4 **** stars. (out of 5)

Or head to Deschlers, High St in Auckland - it's Cocktail of the Week.  Ask your friendly barman for The Flying Nun.
