STATE OF PLAY.
8am - 10am
Saturdays

A week of sport crammed into 2 hours on a Saturday morning?

“Impossible.  It can’t be done”, they said.  Yet all it took to prove the pundits wrong was two average sporting blokes talking crap.  And out of such determination, the irreverent State of Play was created.

Aaron Nagel and Keith Miller get together to talk sport (and a few other completely irrelevant bits and pieces) each Saturday morning from 8am-10am on Kiwi FM.

And how could they possibly go wrong with regular contributors such as
  • Sky Sport’s Stephen McIvor on League,
  • cricket correspondent Graeme Beasley (www.sportsfreak.co.nz) ,
  • Kiwi FM’s favourite Cockney Rob Bollocks talking Football,
  • “Basketball” Barry Kay
  • and broadcasting doyen Peter Gardner on pretty much anything he wants to speak about
Chuck in our US correspondents - Eric talking NASCAR and Alex talking Baseball and the show simply screams “international flavour”.

Whether you are chasing down Friday night’s footy results, or a preview of the weekend’s fixtures, State of Play provides you with a chaotic mixture of entertainment, humour and all round sporting enrichment.

From Super 14 to badminton, from golf to boxing, from the NRL to Lacrosse - we’ve got it all covered on State of Play.

State of Play - 8am to 10am Saturday mornings on Kiwi FM.  Prepare to be enlightened!

YOUR HOSTS: AARON & KEITH

Aaron Nagel dabbled in many sports as a youngster, including basketball, tennis, rugby and soccer. But having reached 30 with only a gold medal from the Royal Oak Indoor Netball Centre to show for his efforts, he decided that watching sport and talking about it was probably the way to go.  More often than not, Aaron is the one pushing all the buttons and trying to get some semblance of order into the show. Sometimes, he gets it right.

Keith Miller also dipped his oar into the sporting ocean.  However, his only real claim to fame was a disaster that occurred in front of the Auckland Cricket age group selectors when he was brutally run out without facing a ball. Various other sorties into the sporting world proved to be about as successful, although he can claim to be part of an Indoor Cricket side that won a number of Auckland Champs medals.  Figuring it is easier to yak about sport than actually participate, Keith is also  contributes to www.sportsfreak.co.nz.
